Dayton Relays - rain and more rain!

Posted Friday, April 22, 2011 by Mike Hout

The rains just keep coming.  At least we have gotten most of our meets in, unlike Carlisle.  One of their coaches works at Bullwinkle's and he told me that half of their meets have been canceled!

The Dayton Relays were postponed on Friday but, despite the rains, we were able to get the meet in on Monday.  The 4x1600 boys team did not disappoint in their attempt to break the record.  Brett Hoefling had a pr long jump and came back to post the best mark in the girls high jump.  Cody Hamblin became the second best long jumper in Miamisburg history with his 21-8 1/4 jump.  Interestingly enough, he has not jumped over twenty feet this season but that did not stop him as he leaped right over the 20's into the 21's.  Tyler Ikerd had a big pr in the shot put.  But the biggest shock had to be Ajea Miracle in the shot put.......or could that have been Trinity Meeks?  We placed in the 4x400 relay but all the talk was about the 46.9 anchor by Dunbar's Antonio Blanks.
