March 3rd indoor meet at Capital University

Posted Monday, March 05, 2012 by Mike Hout

On the first weekend in March we had two van loads full of athletes attend the Capital University indoor meet in Columbus, Ohio.  Everyone competed hard and did quite well considering that we have not even had our first "official" practice yet.  Jordan Townsely was the MVP of the meet as she not only won the 1600 but also the 800.  Both races were climaxed by exciting stretch runs against good opponents but Jordan's kick was undeniable.  It is going to be an exciting outdoor season!

It will also be an exciting outdoor season for Brooklyn Mikesell.  She ran a nice 200 but was especially impressive in the 60 meter hurdles.  Brian Mee won his heat of the 800 with a good stretch run and finished sixth overall.  Daniel Henson also finished sixth with a nice 60 meter hurdle effort.  Quentin Mullen ran a nice 3200 behind one of the top performers in the state.  Ayanna Pringle sprinted a fine early season 400 but finished behind a gal coached by a former Capital athlete that Pastor Hout coached!  Zac Kruer showed signs of progress as he got over his opening height in the pole vault.

Here are the complete meet results:
