indoor state meet at Akron

Posted Tuesday, March 13, 2012 by Mike Hout
Miamisburg had their first ever indoor state meet participant in Jordan Townsley.  She qualified in the 1600 to run on the giant indoor oval (and we mean giant as it is a full 1/3 bigger than the indoor track at Cedarville, Ohio State and Capital).  Coach Jenny reports that she ran well and had a good finish.  She may have gone out a little too fast as she led the pack for the first 500 meters or so.  Still, she did not get in too much oxygen debt and pulled out her best ever indoor time at 5:23

Here are the meet results:

Some highlights of the meet include records in the girls 4x800, the boys 60 and 200 (with Jason Bailey from Springboro 3rd in the 60), the boys 60 hurdles, the girls 200, the boys 3200, the boys shot put and the boys pole vault.  Brannon Kidder ran a nice 1600/800 double to win both races.  We ran against him at the Capital indoor meet.  Chaminade Julienne won the girls championship in the division II/III meet.  Dunbar won the title in the boys division of II/III.
