Centerville Elk Relays - what a mess!!!

Posted Sunday, April 15, 2012 by Mike Hout
Boy, do I want to forget about my coaching time at this meet.  It seemed like nothing I did was helping out at the pole vault area.  Well, except for Zak Kruer.  He looked great!  He had terrific warm up vaults and was heard to say "I love vaulting in the rain." and "This is fun!"

Despite the rain and cool weather, there were some historic moments for Burg runners.  Can you believe both the girls and the boys 4x1600 set school records?  Those were great races by Miamisburg athletes.  I also saw us clean up with both the boys and girls 4x300 hurdle relays.  Outside of that, I don't remember much from this meet that was eventually canceled because of lightning.  That means that all the negative things that happened at the vault pit are in the past and not recorded.  Yippee!!!

Miamisburg decided not to go back on the following Wednesday to finish the rest of the meet.  We were already busy at Stebbins.  In the final results it is interesting how they listed teams that didn't go back as no heighting etc.

Here are the final results including what happened on Wednesday:
